The best inventions are often inspired by observing nature, and our Researchers have always been interested in the
processes that the plant world uses to repair itself.
Their objective? To identify new substances, which could inspire them in actively treating the skin.
When plants are damaged they produce a “signal-molecule” called jasmonic acid. This activates the healing of the
damaged tissues, and also serves to make them more resistant. Within plants, it is this “signal-molecule” that triggers
the action of repair and defense mechanisms.

JASMONIC ACID, A “SIGNAL-MOLECULE” FOR A PLANTS’ DEFENCE AND HEALING PROCESSES
When a plant is attacked, it synthesizes jasmonic acid from the linolenic acid of its cellular membranes. Then the
jasmonic acid activates the transcription of encoding genes for the synthesis of repair and defense proteins that
makes the plant more resistant to future attacks.

A SOURCING PROCESS THAT RESPECTS THE ENVIRONMENT ESTABLISHING A CUSTOM-BUILT
MODEL

Our Research challenge: mimic the jasmonic acid’s repairing ability in a compound that’s in perfect affinity with
human skin. Our Research created and studied around 20 derivatives of this substance over a period of more than 10
years. Out of these studies, the molecule identified as LR 2412, was born.

AN OMNIPRESENT MOLECULE A UNIVERSAL MOLECULE ABLE TO PERMEATE ALL
LAYERS OF THE SKIN

A UNIQUE MOLECULAR DESIGN

LR 2412 is designed to “self-propel” throughout all areas of the skin. A universal molecule with an ability to
permeate through all layers of the skin.

The key to this incredible permeating ability is its amphiphilic nature. LR 2412 shows an affinity for both aqueous
and lipid structures. From the first contact, it fuses with the skin, then “propels” itself into all of the layers. Through
the permeation of all the skin’s compartments, its strength is diffused to the deepest layers.

DIFFUSION THROUGH ALL STRATA OF THE SKIN
PENETRATION STUDIES EX VIVO, ON SKIN EXPLANTS

After having crossed the stratum corneum, LR 2412 sinks through both the epidermis and the dermis. This
molecule is 4 times more bio available than a lipophilic reference molecule like retinol.

A SERIES OF MICRO -TRANSFORMATIONS IN ALL AREAS OF THE SKIN

Just like in plants, LR 2412 behaves like a “signal-molecule” in the skin. During its diffusion through the skin,
LR 2412 sets off chain reactions* in all the skin’s layers, targeting the key factors leading to the renewal of the skin’s
material.

LR 2412 boosts the synthesis of fundamental elements of the skin*, among which are the key components of
hyaluronasome. Hyaluronasome is the sum of the molecules involved in the synthesis (hyaluronan synthase HAS),
the maturation (hyaluronidase) and the fixation of the hyaluronic acid on the specific receptors (CD44v3).

EPIDERMIS: FOR A REINVIGORATED REGENERATION

LR 2412 STIMULATES, IN A TARGETED WAY, THE PRODUCTION OF 6 KEY MARKERS* OF THE
EPIDERMAL STRUCTURE AND REGENERATION.

These 6 markers are Ki67, keratin K5, epidermal thickness, syndecan and components of epidermal hyaluronasome:
hyaluronan synthase HAS3 and receptors CD44v3 , attesting to a regenerated and reorganized epidermis. The
efficiency is illustrated in the photos below:

LR 2412 ACCELERATES EPIDERMIS REGENERATION.

When LR 2412 is applied to an area of the skin where the superficial layers have been eliminated, it is observed that
the repair of the tissues is perceptible from the 7th day** with LR 2412, compared to the untreated area. In addition,
the barrier function of the skin is improved.
