Himalaya Purifying neem Face Wash- Review & Photos

My skin type is usually normal but it has changes with the weather. In summers it remains normal but in monsoon it becomes a bit oily. I have to change my skincare routine according to its nature, so as a result the products also change.

Last summer when I visited Delhi, the weather was so hot there that I found some pimples popping out on my face. It was so irritating. So I bought Himalaya Purifying Neem Face Wash because it’s a herbal product and I always prefer herbal products for my skin. I used it twice a day and after four days only, my skin became clear from pimples and I found my skin clean and soft. After that unfortunately I couldn’t buy it again as I went on trying other face washes in which I found some good while some were not of my type. But now I have it again and I’m so happy to review one of my favorite face wash.

What it claims:

A soap free herbal formulation that gently removes impurities and prevents pimples.

Neem, well known for its anti-bacterial properties, kill problem causing bacteria, and Turmeric effectively controls acne and pimples. Use regularly for clear, soft and pimple free skin.

Direction of use:

Moisten face and neck, apply a small amount of purifying Neem Face Wash and gently work up a lather using a circular motion. Wash off & pat dry. Use twice daily.

Active ingredients:

Azadirachta indica (Neem, Nimba) Curcuma longa (Turmeric, Haridra)

Packaging:

It's packed in squeeze out tube with the top cap. I find it a bit difficult to open up the cap but that’s a good thing in a way coz there’s no fear of it leaking out of the tube during traveling.

Net weight: 50 ml

Price: Rs. 45

In the mirror of my own experience:

Seeing pimples on my face was really horrible, although they were small ones but still I never have had any so it was a bad experience for me. But after using this face wash, they all vanished in 4-5 days and that was really impressive. Since then I’ve used this facewash only during summers despite the fact that I don’t face much of pimple problem now. But still it’s really good for me in summers.

What I like about this facewash:

It can make your face pimple free in less than a week.

It’s quite moisturizing and even if you skip out the moisturizer, it’ll do. But if your skin is normal you should use a moisturizer after this.

Makes the face look fresh and supple.

Gives a lovely soothing effect to the face.

Didn’t experience any breakouts on using it.

The packaging is nice and the product is handy.

It’s a herbal product and that too from Himalaya Herbals, so you can trust the product; no side effects.

Does not sting much if goes into the eyes.

Very little quantity is required in one wash and thus the quantity of the product is worth the price.

So of course, the price is very reasonable.

What I don’t like:

It’s not good for me in winters as my skin becomes dry at that time so I usually don’t use this face wash in winters.

It does not produce much lather which, in a way is good, but not for those who want lather producing face washes.

Final thoughts-

So overall all I have to say is that I’m loving this face wash and one of the best face washes that I’ve used till now. I’m surely gonna buy it again and again for summers and monsoon.

Rating:

4.5/5

Will I recommend it:

Yes, it should be must for oily and combination skinned girls. Even normal skin type girls should try it out in case they face any problems like pimples or acne.

So that was all about my experience with this facewash from Himalaya. Hope this review helps!! have you tried it?? What do you think?

Disclosure: This review contains a sample product sent for consideration by PR but has not affected my thoughts in anyway.

Revlon Illuminance Creme eyeshadow- review, Swatches and photos

Good evening ladies,

Hope everyone is having a great week and enjoying the beautiful spring :-D Anyways let’s talk about today’s post which is about Revlon Illuminance Creme shadow.

Most of the products that I use are from Revlon only coz I really love their quality and they are easily affordable too.

It was around 3-4 months back when I got this cream eye shadow palette from Revlon- Copper coast.

What is it?

It’s an eyeshadow quad with four cream eye shadows which comes in a transparent lid palette.

What it claims?

Ophthalmologist tested, it blends seamlessly for limitless effects, luminous finish brightens up eyes, weightless color glides on smoothly and easily with fingertips, fragrance-free, irritant-free, and suitable for contact lens wearers.

Price-Rs 485

My experience-

I haven’t used much of cream eye shadows so when heard of these from Revlon I went to get one to give it a try. It’s available in 10-12 shades but these caught my eye first and I bought it in Copper coast. Another reason was that I had also got a new dress and this one matches it perfectly. Till now I’ve used it only 2-3 times and I can say that it’s not a bad product but has some cons too which I’ve mentioned below.

This quad contains four shades- dark brown, orangish brown, golden and dull white.

Packaging-

It comes in a container with a transparent lid. Closes with a click but opens with a bit of difficulty (at least that’s the case with me)

What I like about these shadows ?-

They are nicely pigmented.

The shades in this palette are both light and dark with shimmers.

They are full of shimmers and give a dazzling look to the eyes.

It blends well and looks beautiful on the eyes.

Does not feel heavy on the eyelids and the texture is very smooth and creamy.

You can also use the white one as a base sometimes.

The case is very handy and compact.

The shades in all the palettes are very pretty.

Both light and dark shades available in each palette and you can create different looks using these.

Product is worth the price.

Here are the swatches-

What I don’t like about these shadows-

It creases after sometime which does not look good on the eyelids.

No applicator provided.

I don’t like the packaging coz I had expected it to be in a beautiful case with a mirror and applicator but the transparent lid is not at all impressive and it sometimes even separates out.

As many people say that it is not suitable for oily eyelids.

But overall I can say that it is quite an impressive product & I would like to try out some other shades too.

Rating- :D :D :D :D /5

Will I repurchase it- Maybe….I would like to try out Black Magic and Electric pop.

Will I recommend it- Yes, if you are a fan of Revlon and cream eye shadows you should try it out, but not suitable for oily eyelids.

So this was today’s review about Revlon Illuminance crème eyeshadows. Hope you like it :-D Have you tried any of the shades from Revlon’s cream eyeshadows….did you like it??

My new Facebook Fanpage is here. It’ll be great to see you joining it !!

Lotus herbals Safe Sun gel sunscreen-review and photos

Hi ladies,

The summers have started to settle themselves in many parts of India and now it’s time that we start using a lot of our sunscreens whenever we go out. Isn’t it?

Since the last 2-3 years I’ve stuck to only one sunscreen and that is from Lotus herbals. I’ve been using 3-in-1 matte look Sunblock but this time thought of trying out this Sunscreen gel with SPF 20.

What it claims:

This revolutionary oil-free sunscreen gel, made with extracts of babchi seed, sea weed, aloe and other aquatic plants, is ideal for oily skin especially in hot and humid weather. May be used on all parts of the body.

Key ingredients:
Phenyl Banzimidazole Sulfonic Acid, Babchi Seed extract.

How to use:

Apply on cleansed face before going out door. Repeat application every time your skin is exposed to sun. For best results use with Safe Sun Sunscreen Face Wash Gel.

My experience:

I’ve been using the matte look sunblock since long so this time thought of trying out this gel one. I experience a normal-combination skin type during summers and monsoons and so picked this one as it claims to be for oily and normal skin type. I’m almost done with this bottle and finally I must say that it is quite an impressive product.

The packaging:

It comes in a transparent plastic pump up bottle which is very convenient in use and the contents inside looks like an orange marmalade :D .

Price: Rs 175-200 for 100gm

Pros :) :

This sunscreen is not at all sticky and perfect for summers.

Oil free and light.

It’s quite thick and so very little amount is required.

The packaging is very comfortable coz it’s a pump out bottle.

Quite moisturizing, so skipping the moisturizer will also do.

Gets absorbed in the skin quickly and is not greasy.

It’s a herbal product so will surely have no side effects.

Best for oily to normal skin type but even people with dry skin can use it sometimes but with a moisturizer.

Cons :( :

It’s a bit drying sometimes and not good for dry skin but as I’ve mentioned above they can also use it with a good moisturizer.

The SPF is quite low…only 20 :( so you can’t go out into the sun for a very long time after using it. For that you will have to apply it again and again after a 3-4 hrs.

So overall I can say that I’m satisfied with this product but I won’t use it in winters. At that time I use the matte look sunblock which is the best sunscreen that I’ve ever used.

Rating: :) :) :) :) /5

Will I repurchase it- Yes, but only during summers.

Will I recommend it- Yes, it’s very good for oily and combination skin type.

So this was today’s review. Hope it helped :D Have a great week!!

Celebrity makeup 2- Katrina Kaif

See this picture. What do you feel? Don’t you appreciate her makeup artist? Makeup which brightens and beautifies your face and yet doesn’t show. Natural makeup can make amazing changes in our faces.

No doubt that Katrina Kaif is naturally beautiful but wrong makeup often destroys her beauty but right makeup grows her beauty like a bright moon.

In this picture Katrina has wore a white outfit and done a subtle and lovely makeup.

So if I try this makeup on my face what products will I use, take a look.

Face-

Moisturize my face with Shamoist first

Apply Revlon Color stay foundation on my face then a light touch of Revlon colorstay concealer wherever I need it. A light touch of Revlon mineral powder as well.

Eyes-

Chambor stick foundation to prime my eyes

I’ll take a light peach shade from my VOV palette, apply all over the lids and will spread it in the outer corner of my eyes, then take silvery white shade for the brow bone, apply and then blend them perfectly. I’ll apply a thin line of peach shade in the lower lash line. I’ll not apply eyeliner here, but wear a natural eye lashes from Revlon or ES brand. I’ll apply one coat of mascara from Revlon.

Cheeks-

I’ll apply light peach blush from Chambor blush duo and blend it.

Lips-

I’ll use peach Revlon lip liner for outlining my lips then fill it with a nude lip-gloss from Lakme.

So this was today’s Sunday celebrity makeup post…hope you liked it. Will be back a new celebrity post next week.

Some tips to protect your skin in Holi

A very good afternoon to my lovely readers and friends,

Today is Holi, the festival of colors….that is very much awaited by everyone. So the very best wishes to all my Indian friends for Holi!! Holi is the festival of colors, a time when you enjoy playing and celebrating with colors, colored water etc. But don’t forget that these colors can even harm in many ways coz after all they all constitute chemicals and other substances which can harm prove harmful to a certain extent.

Therefore I request everyone to use herbal colors and protect yourselves.

In my today’s post I’m here to tell you some tips to protect your skin from colors and then you can fully enjoy your fest and also be safe.

First of all apply a bit of oil on your hands and face coz oil prevents the color to stick on your skin, preferably mustard oil. After oiling don’t forget to use a sunscreen with a good SPF- 30 or more.

So that was a simple method to protect your skin but if you don’t wanna do that, want to be safe and also look beautiful…I have something else for you ladies as well :D

These are some makeup tips that you may follow- Use a heavy foundation as it’ll be protective in nature.

EYES- Don’t use a powder eye shadow with fall out as it will surely wash out and mix with the colors on your skin.

Use eye crayon instead. A waterproof mascara can be used. Don’t wear contact lenses.

Wear glasses or sunglasses that protect your eyes from the colors.

Prefer a waterproof lipstick and glitter nail paint. Glitters prevent the colors to stick on your nails.

So these were some makeup tips that you must follow before going out to play with colors. But the most important care begins after you are done with your celebration and it’s time to cleanse and clean.

Take off the color from your face by using a gentle cleanser and wash properly. Don’t forget to take a bath…of course you won’t!! Apart from this you can even use a mild scrub of home made scrubs to rub off the gulal and colors. Once you’ve taken a bath apply a mild soothing lotion to calm your skin from the chemicals that you’ve used and there you are clean and fresh one again!!

Hope this post helps. Happy colorful and safe Holi once again!! :D :)
