Himalaya Purifying neem Face Wash- Review & Photos

My skin type is usually normal but it has changes with the weather. In summers it remains normal but in monsoon it becomes a bit oily. I have to change my skincare routine according to its nature, so as a result the products also change.

Last summer when I visited Delhi, the weather was so hot there that I found some pimples popping out on my face. It was so irritating. So I bought Himalaya Purifying Neem Face Wash because it’s a herbal product and I always prefer herbal products for my skin. I used it twice a day and after four days only, my skin became clear from pimples and I found my skin clean and soft. After that unfortunately I couldn’t buy it again as I went on trying other face washes in which I found some good while some were not of my type. But now I have it again and I’m so happy to review one of my favorite face wash.

What it claims:

A soap free herbal formulation that gently removes impurities and prevents pimples.

Neem, well known for its anti-bacterial properties, kill problem causing bacteria, and Turmeric effectively controls acne and pimples. Use regularly for clear, soft and pimple free skin.

Direction of use:

Moisten face and neck, apply a small amount of purifying Neem Face Wash and gently work up a lather using a circular motion. Wash off & pat dry. Use twice daily.

Active ingredients:

Azadirachta indica (Neem, Nimba) Curcuma longa (Turmeric, Haridra)

Packaging:

It's packed in squeeze out tube with the top cap. I find it a bit difficult to open up the cap but that’s a good thing in a way coz there’s no fear of it leaking out of the tube during traveling.

Net weight: 50 ml

Price: Rs. 45

In the mirror of my own experience:

Seeing pimples on my face was really horrible, although they were small ones but still I never have had any so it was a bad experience for me. But after using this face wash, they all vanished in 4-5 days and that was really impressive. Since then I’ve used this facewash only during summers despite the fact that I don’t face much of pimple problem now. But still it’s really good for me in summers.

What I like about this facewash:

It can make your face pimple free in less than a week.

It’s quite moisturizing and even if you skip out the moisturizer, it’ll do. But if your skin is normal you should use a moisturizer after this.

Makes the face look fresh and supple.

Gives a lovely soothing effect to the face.

Didn’t experience any breakouts on using it.

The packaging is nice and the product is handy.

It’s a herbal product and that too from Himalaya Herbals, so you can trust the product; no side effects.

Does not sting much if goes into the eyes.

Very little quantity is required in one wash and thus the quantity of the product is worth the price.

So of course, the price is very reasonable.

What I don’t like:

It’s not good for me in winters as my skin becomes dry at that time so I usually don’t use this face wash in winters.

It does not produce much lather which, in a way is good, but not for those who want lather producing face washes.

Final thoughts-

So overall all I have to say is that I’m loving this face wash and one of the best face washes that I’ve used till now. I’m surely gonna buy it again and again for summers and monsoon.

Rating:

4.5/5

Will I recommend it:

Yes, it should be must for oily and combination skinned girls. Even normal skin type girls should try it out in case they face any problems like pimples or acne.

So that was all about my experience with this facewash from Himalaya. Hope this review helps!! have you tried it?? What do you think?

Disclosure: This review contains a sample product sent for consideration by PR but has not affected my thoughts in anyway.

Maybelline shadow stylist- Review and swatches

Hi lovely ladies,

The year is coming to an end. So what are your New Year resolutions for 2011? I haven't made any because I know that I'll never follow them. he he!! Anyways wish everyone all the best for an amazing New Year!!! Enjoy<3

So today I'm reviewing Maybelline Shadow Stylist loose powder 620 Contemporary white.

I bought it on my trip to Delhi. I wanted some unique product for my eyes, when i saw this the bell rang in my mind. I love silver shade and always look for it in different brands so without wasting my time I bought it.

The Maybelline Shadow Stylist is loose powder eye shadow in a bottle with a sponge tip applicator. I bought it in white pearl shade, the price of this product is Rs 325.

Directions for use:

* Shake package. Tap off excess powder.

* Use the unique sponge tip applicator to apply one layer to your eyelids for a basic look.

* Apply more pressure during application for more color and intensity.

* To further intensify the look, add lighter shades to highlight and darker shades to contour your eyes.

Why I love this product:

It is unique in many ways.

The packaging is lovely like a nail polish or eyeliner and is very cute.

Very easy to keep it in my purse or vanity case. Very comfortable in applying on my lids.

One coat is enough for getting a natural pearl shade.

Amazing blending by its applicator. After one coat, my lids look bright and even. It can be applied on the brow bone for highlighting.

It evens out my lid colour.

It can be mixed with other dark shades too to create a party style look.

.

This shimmer shadow so beautifully decorates the eyes with it's shimmery effect.

Glides on so easily and covers the whole of the lid in 1 or 2 swipes...Isn't that amazing! I've used many Maybelline shadows and none of them were very pigmented or shimmery but this loose powder is really amazing. Well done Maybelline:))

I'll surely get some other shades too like black, green, brown, blue etc.

Cons-

The quantity is really less.

Here is the swatch. Only 2 swipes without any base-

Anyways it is a lovely product so I'm satisfied.

So ladies hope you liked this product because I surely did! Have you tried any other shades? What do you think?

Lakme eye shadow quartet- Tanjore Rush ( Review and swatches)

Hello ladies, Here I am back with a new post. Today I'm gonna review Lakme Gypsy collection eye shadow quartet Tanjore Rush.

I know I'm really late in reviewing this but anyways when bloggers reviewed these palettes this was my favorite one. As you people know that it was my is marriage last month so I thought why not do her bridal makeup myself so as to utilize my skills. Her dress was green and maroon so I needed a palette which had green, maroon and golden shades in it. Then I remembered about his palette and yeah I bought it!!

What it claims- Versatile quartets of vivid, high intensity powders put together to color, shape and highlight your eyes in an explosion of radiant color.

Price- Rs 425

As you know there are 4 shades in this palette and all are shimmery.
Tanjore Rush consist of golden yellow shade, bronze, forest green and wine purple.

Here are are my views on all these shades-

1. The first one is a wine purple shade. Such a gorgeous shade...Isn't it? Can be used to create a smokey eye look too.

2. The second one is forest green or you can call it a blackish green shade and this one is my favorite. Has a lovely texture and blends well.

3. The third one is a mixture of maroon and bronze. A nice shade and this one adds another bronze in my bronze-copper collection. Haven't used this one much till now.

4. The last one is a yellowish golden shade. I was not much impressed by this shade as it was not the perfect golden which I wanted. But still it has it's own quality so can't just kick it off.

OVERALL-

Pros:

All shades are super pigmented.

Silky and shimmery vibrant ones. Very well suited for night makeup and party looks.

Their lasting power is...well... not veryyy good but not very bad. They last up to 3-4 hours which is good enough.

Cons-

All shades are shimmery and very loud ones. I suppose they could have added one matte shade too.
The applicator is not a good one.
The sponge tip does not give a nice coverage and blending.

Here are the swatches only 2 swipes each-

Will I recommend it- Yes certainly! I'm very impressed by this palette and would surely tell my readers to try it out especially for festive occasions.

Soon I'll do a post posting pics of my sis' makeup which I had done.

So guys have to tried this palette? What do you think about it?

Maybelline Expert Wear Blush- Review

Hi ladies,

It's really good to be back. Now I'll continue writing more and more reviews and other posts on my blog coz it's really been a long time. These days my Internet connection is not working properly so I'm not able to comment on everyone's blogs but I promise that I'll get it repaired soon.

Anyways today's review is about a new Maybelline Expert Wear blush on which I bought recently. Shade: 95 Potpourri

As you can see that it's a dark pink shade which is a color that suits many of your dresses.

PRICE: Rs 209

Very reasonable as most of the Maybelline products are.

Gives a nice light glow to the cheeks.

It can suit even dark skin tones as well as light ones.

I like the applicator provided.

It's oil free.

The staying power is really impressive( 6-7 hours)

Available in many shades and I find Dusty mauve and Berry Sorbet lovely colors.

It's a nice product but not very pigmented.

But overall I liked this product and according to the price it's really impressive.

RATING: 3.5/5

So guys have to tried any of the Maybelline blushes?? Which shades have you used?

Revlon Colorburst lipstick- Review and Swatches

Hi guys,

I'm very happy as I've reached 250 followers. Amazing!! Thanks a lot to all my followers who like reading my blog.

Today I'm gonna review Revlon Colorburst Lipstick in Peach 075.

It is such an awesome shade coz it's neither very light nor very dark so it's a perfect coralish shade.

I love the packaging.

This shade suits many dresses and can be used in combinations.

The formula is soft and creamy. It’s one the most moisturising formula ever and it never dries out my lips.

What I do love about these is the fact that they have a glossy finish but aren’t much shimmery.

The lack of shimmer in these shades is refreshing and it's very wearable...lasts 6-8 hours.

You won't feel heavy after applying this.

It feels really different after wearing this.

Here is the swatch:

PRICE: Rs 525

Cons:

It's a bit pricey but ...it's fine!

I really want to try it's Rosy Nude shade and even Carnation...They are lovely shades!!!

Have you tried REVLON COLORBURST LIPSTICKS?? Which shades do you have??

And if you don't have..you should surely try it out. It's really the best!!

COLORBAR LIPSTICK IN TWIN PINK: Review, swatches and LOTD.

Hi lovelies!!!

So here I'm back again. I'm feeling great and the weather here is getting quite cold coz winter is setting in.

Anyways today's review is all about Colorbar Lip color in Twin pink 003

Price: Rs 200- 250 I don't remember clearly.

I bought this lippie just about 1 and a half months ago. At that time nude pink was in great demand. So I went to buy one for myself....But when I saw this one it really attracted me so I bought it. Even this shade is similar to the nude one.

Sorry it's a bit messed up:

LIKES:

This is a lovely baby pink shade.

The packaging is nice.

It's not very light or very dark and that's the best point in this. Shows up clearly.

Lasts long for about 6 hours.

I don't feel heavy at all after applying it.

The price is worth the product.

DISLIKE:

You may have to use it again after 5-6 hours. But that's not the problem with me as I hardly need for 3-4 hours.

Here's the swatch:

WILL I PURCHASE IT AGAIN: yeah sure....because I already have many from his range. So next time surely another shade.

WILL I RECOMMEND THIS: Yes I would say that even you guys should try it.

This is what it looked like:

RATE IT:  I give it a 4/5. What about you???

VLCC SKIN DEFENSE SANDAL CLEANSING MILK- REVIEW

Sorry friends for keeping you all wait for a new post.

Last few days were very busy and I was quite tensed due to some reasons. I missed my readers and friends, now I'm here with something useful.

I bought this VLCC Skin Defense Sandal cleansing milk because I was highly impressed by company's other products like it's massage cream, face packs and even the face wash.

What the company claims-

This refreshing, non foaming cleansing milk is enriched with the goodness of Sandalwood, Almond & Indian Berberry extracts. It deep cleanses, nourishes and heals the skin.

Method of use-

Massage gently in circular motion with a small amount of this cleansing milk on the face & neck. Remove with damp cotton. Ideal for all skin types, but better for normal to dry skin.

Ingredients-

Indian Berberry Ext, Lodhra Bark Ext, Red Sandalwood Ext, Fenugreek Ext, Almond oil.

My own experience-

After using this product, I can tell that it's the best cleanser I have ever used. It totally justifies what it it claims.

What I like in this product?

It can remove all the makeup very easily expect the water proof makeup(which is a little tough)

                                                                I applied kajal:

Then I removed it with this cleanser.Great job! Isn't it??

I love the it's light smell.

It's gentle and I feel fresh after using it.

The price is worth the product- Rs 115 only

The consistency is neither runny nor thick.

Does not dry my skin after I remove my makeup.

What I don't like-

This product removes face makeup and eye shadows completely but it does not remove water proof mascara or eye liners easily.

It is a lotion based cleanser so it wouldn't be as good for oily skin as it is for normal to dry skin.

Will I buy it again?

yes of course, I have finished the last one and just bought this new bottle. I love this cleansing lotion.

So beauties, what's your view about this product, I really want to know it & I'll surely recommend it to all of you to try this product.

Lakme Face Magic Daily Wear Souffle- Review

Hi ladies

Hope everyone is doing well. Very busy these days!! Anyways, weekend has arrived once again and I'm gonna rest for two days to shake off all my weariness. Terrible weather going on here. Rain Rain and only rain!!! Haven't seen a ray of sunlight since the past 2-3 days. But rains are also fun. Isn't it??

Today's review is all about Lakme Face Magic:Daily Wear Souffle. I read about this product in a magazine. It was for getting a dewy kind of look. I found it quite interesting and bought it about 3 months ago.

WHAT I LIKE:

If I'm in a great hurry this is easy to use and works like a cream+compact+liquid foundation.

Also contains bit of moisturizer.

The bottle is cute.

WHAT I DON'T LIKE:

My purpose was not fulfilled. It isn't that effective (For me). One of my friends also used it and she found it quite nice.

The color is too dark for my complexion. Gives sought of a tanned look.

When I used it for the first time it formed patchy spots on my skin.

It was only for Rs 99. Really inexpensive??

WILL I BUY IT AGAIN?? Hmmmmm....I'll have to think. Most probably NO.

So ladies this was all about Lakme Face Magic. Overall I didn't like it that much but maybe you should give it a try. Has anyone of you used it? If yes....don't hesitate to share your views. Hope it works for you. Enjoy the weekend guys!!
